The first Ukrainian Leleka-100 drones, purchased by the Come Back Alive Foundation for $1,200,000, are already in the sky
Last week we wrote, that the charitable organization "Come Back Alive" started handing over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine the first unmanned aerial systems "Leleka-100" of Ukrainian production. Now the foundation has announced that the drones are already successfully operating in the sky.
What we know
The new users were air reconnaissance specialists of one of the frontline units of the Marine Corps. They used the Lelek-100 in the eastern Dnipro region along with representatives of the manufacturing company, who trained the military to use the capabilities of the upgraded package.
One Leleka-100 complex consists of two unmanned aerial vehicles and a control station. The Come Back Alive Foundation purchased 25 complexes at a cost of UAH 36 million (or $12 million at the current exchange rate). All the drones will be handed over to the Armed Forces by the end of the summer.
"Leleka-100" is one of the best reconnaissance drones of Ukrainian production. It can perform reconnaissance at the depth up to 50 km from the front line and can reach the speed of 140 km/h. The maximum flight altitude is 1.5 km. The drone is equipped with cameras for day and night work.
By the way, now the foundation "Come Back Alive" collects $15 000 together with "Avia Galicia" to buy another drone (not aviation complex). It will become the eyes for HIMARS and look for targets for U.S. MLRS.
