Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners shot down an expensive Russian Forpost drone
Soldiers of an anti-aircraft missile unit shot down a Russian Forpost drone in the sky over the Mykholaiv region.
What we know
"Forpost" is a reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle, which can stay in the air for 18 hours and cover a distance of up to 250 km. The destruction of the drone was reported by the Air Force Command of the AFU.
"Forpost" is not entirely a Russian development. The drone was created under Israeli license as a copy of Searcher II. The price of the Israeli drone is $7,500,000. It is assumed that the Russian version costs about the same.
It should be noted that this is at least the second Forpost, which was shot down over the territory of Ukraine. The first drone was forced to land hard on July 1.
