Ukraine will soon receive a new shipment of tracked vehicles from Germany. This time for bridge paving.
What is known
While the Armed Forces are waiting for supplies of Leopard tanks, the German Defense Ministry has announced the transfer of bridge laying machines based on Leopard 1 tanks. The equipment is called Biber. Ukraine will receive 16 bridge-layers from the Bundeswehr's reserves.
It should be noted that Berlin has recently become noticeably more active in terms of military assistance. Recently the German Defense Ministry reported about the transfer to Ukraine of three MARS II rocket systems, ten PzH 2000 howitzers and five Gepard antiaircraft tanks. In addition, the Bundestag has authorized the manufacturer of the PzH 2000 to negotiate directly with Ukraine for the production of 100 self-propelled units worth €1.7 billion.
