Iran is increasing exports of strike drones and may have sent drones to russia
Iran has increased sales of unmanned aerial vehicles, and some of the drones could go to Russia.
What we know
The New York Times reports about the increase in drone sales. We are talking about deliveries of drones to countries outside the Middle East.
Information that Russia might buy Shahed drones appeared a few weeks ago. U.S. intelligence stated that a Russian delegation had visited Iran at least twice to obtain information about UAV capabilities even before Vladimir Putin visited Tehran.
Until recently, the U.S. had said there was no indication of any deliveries of strike drones to Russia. However, a new report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) mentions OSINT experts saying that Iran did send the first pair of drones to Russia along with specialists who will train the military in the use of UAVs.
