Russian soldiers were so active in hiding from HIMARS that they accidentally blew up their own train of ammunition and equipment
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Directorate of Intelligence revealed how Russian forces tried to hide a train with ammunition and equipment from HIMARS missile systems.
What is known
On July 31, Russia sent a train with military equipment and ammunition to the Kalanchak railway station in Kherson Oblast. on August 1, the military began unloading the wagons. In order to provide protection against HIMARS missile systems, it was decided to use powerful smokescreen means.
A few hours after the start there was an explosion. The General Directorate of Intelligence supposes that it became the reason of careless handling of ammunition during unloading of the train. A second theory is that the explosion was caused by inexpert use of pyrotechnic means for creating a smoke screen.
After the explosion, the train departed without warning in the direction of temporarily occupied Crimea. The Russian army personnel fled.
