China surrounds Taiwan with troops and announces drills from August 4 to 7

China continues to state that it considers Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan to be a provocation by the United States and is surrounding the island with troops in parallel.

What is known

The authorities of the People's Republic of China have announced a military exercise from 12:00 noon on August 4 to 12:00 noon on August 7 local time. The exercise will involve the closure of five areas near Taiwan. In these areas, the sky will be closed and sea traffic will be restricted.

China's Xinhua News Agency (Xinhua) reports that the exercises will include long-range live fire. At the same time a large number of videos are appearing on the network with footage of the movement of military equipment in Fujian (Fujian), the province closest to Taiwan.

Recently it became known that China launched a hypersonic missile DF-17 in 120 km from the island. The day before there was seen movement of missile systems DF-16 towards Taiwan. China is also pulling down air defense systems, armored vehicles and aircraft.
