Argentine Air Force receives first modernized Embraer EMB 312 Tucano
The first modernized version of the aircraft Embraer EMB 312 Tucano entered into service with the Argentine Air Force.
What we know
The modernization of the training aircraft was carried out by a local company Redimec. Now Embraer EMB 312 Tucano has modern equipment with touch panels, new navigation and communication systems. Safety has also been upgraded.
The Air Force plans to upgrade Embraer EMB 312 Tucano to meet new military objectives and extend service life. Redimec began work on the four aircraft upgrades in late 2021.
The EMB 312 Tucano is a light, two-seat aircraft by Embraer equipped with a turbo engine. It is available in versions T-27 and AT-27 for training and combat missions, respectively. The aircraft can reach speeds of up to 458 km/h thanks to a 750 hp engine.
Its maximum payload is 1,000 kg. Embraer EMB 312 Tucano is equipped with a 12.7 mm machine gun and can carry guided or unguided bombs.
