U.S. offers Turkey to buy F-16 Block 70 Viper fighters
Turkey can buy F-16 Fighting Falconfighters. A proposal to that effect was received from the United States.
What we know
This was reported by the Turkish Ministry of Defense. According to the ministry, the Turkish delegation has already gone to the United States. The Defense Ministry confirmed that three meetings were held in December 2021 and in February and March 2022 to discuss the purchase of the F-16 Block 70 Viper.
Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has announced the start of preparations for negotiations with the United States on the purchase of new F-16 fighters. In addition, Turkey plans to purchase tools to upgrade aircraft that are already in service with the country's Air Force.
