After the successful development of the KF-21 fighter jet, South Korea wants to develop a stealth drone.

Here's What We Know

The republic's authorities have set their sights on developing an unmanned aerial vehicle that can suppress North Korea's air defense systems. The Defense Development Agency said that Korean Air, a domestic airline, will be involved in the creation of the stealth drone. Although there were rumors that the agency would seek the services of Korea Aerospace Industries, the developer of the KF-21.

Work on the drones began in November 2021. The Defense Development Agency has already completed the design of the drones. Korean Air will develop a system for combining manned and unmanned aircraft. It will allow missions to be conducted by manned aircraft with the support of stealth drones.

In such cases, UAVs are used to divert air defenses and enemy fighters. Whether South Korea plans to equip its drones with missiles and bombs has not yet been specified.
