A Ukrainian PD-2 drone helped destroy a group of Russian troops and an ammunition depot

At the end of June, the Come Back Alive Foundation for Competent Aid to the Army announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would receive 20 PD-2drones. The first UAVs arrived a week ago and have already proven their effectiveness.

What we know

The PD-2 drone helped the artillery forces strike Russian army positions. The drone was used to search for the enemy and correct fire. As a result, a cluster of Russian troops and an ammunition depot were destroyed.

The PD-2 is not only helping the artillerymen. The drone is also used to correct the fire of the Tochka-U tactical missile system and the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher.

Recall that the Come Back Alive Foundation was able to contract 10 unmanned aerial systems, each consisting of two drones. The contract value was ₴300 million, or nearly $8.5 million at the exchange rate at the time of the deal.

The PD-2 can perform reconnaissance to a depth of 200 km. The camera in the drone has a 30x zoom and a 5x thermal imager. The drone has a range of 1,000 km and a maximum flight altitude of 5 km.
