The Polish Armed Forces have decided to buy an additional batch of self-propelled artillery systems.
Here's What We Know
We are talking about 48 Krab self-propelled artillery guns of domestic production. The contract was signed on September 5. It is worth 3,810,000,000 zlotys (about $800,000,000). Apart from the SAU the Polish army will also get 22 command cars, 12 ammunition trucks and two mobile workshops. Deliveries of weapons are to begin in 2025.
Recall, Krab is a Polish self-propelled artillery unit of 155 mm caliber. It has the turret from the British AS-90 SAU and chassis from the Korean K9 Thunder SAU by Samsung Techwin. Krab can fire six rounds per minute. The SAU crew consists of 5 people.
