Serbia plans to purchase Turkish Bayraktar attack drones from Baykar. This was announced by President Aleksandar Vucic.

Here's What We Know

The statement was made after a meeting in Belgrade with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. According to Vucic, Serbia has joined the queue for the drones, as many countries are waiting for the drones.

The Serbian President expressed his hope that deliveries of attack drones will start in 2023. The state is ready to allocate "several hundred million euros" for the purchase. Details will be discussed at the level of defense ministries of both Serbia and Turkey.

It's not specified what kind of drones Serbia wants. Recall that in a recent interview the head of Baykar said that the company is negotiating about the supply of Bayraktar TB2 with 10 countries, and about the export of Bayraktar Akinci with 5-6 countries.
