It is official: Portugal will also hand over German Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine
In addition to Germany, Canada, Poland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Spain, the Portuguese government also intends to transfer German Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

The country's Prime Minister Antonio Costa told the Diario de Noticias. Unfortunately Costa did not say how many tanks or when the vehicles would be delivered. He only said that Portugal will be working with Germany to overhaul some of the tanks before they are delivered. Incidentally, Portugal currently has 37 Leopard 2A6 tanks in service.

The Leopard 2 is a main battle tank created by German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. The Leopard 2 is the successor to the Leopard 1. The Leopard 2 has many modifications and is used by the armed forces of Austria, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Turkey. A total of 3,200 tanks of this model have been produced.
