Defence minister shows video of German Marder infantry fighting vehicles in Ukraine
Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov has published a video of German Marder infantry fighting vehicles on social media.

The BMPs have been received by the Airborne Assault Troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Reznikov did not disclose the number of vehicles, but Germany promised us 40 units.
The Minister of Defence of Ukraine tested the BMP and also thanked the government and the people of Germany for their help in the fight against the Russian invaders. By the way, the Marder BMPs will soon be fighting together with German Leopard 2 tanks, which have also arrived in Ukraine.

Marder is a German tracked armored infantry fighting vehicle. It has been in service with the Bundeswehr since the 1970s. The BMP has many modifications and accommodates up to 10 people. The Marder boasts a sealed hull made of several varieties of armour plates up to 30mm thick. These protect the front of the BMP from 20mm and 25mm bullets from a distance of 200m and the sides from shrapnel and 7.62mm small arms. The armament comprises a 20mm RH 202 automatic cannon and a 7.62mm MG3 machine gun mounted in tandem. The BMP also has one machine gun on the roof of the troop compartment.
