German defence ministry confirms transfer of 18 Leopard 2A6 tanks and 40 Marder BMPs to Ukraine

The German Defence Ministry has officially confirmed that it has handed over to Ukraine all previously promised Leopard 2A6 tanks.

Here's What We Know

According to the Bundeswehr website, we are talking about 18 units of equipment. That is, the Ukrainian armed forces now have 32 tanks in service. Of these, Poland transfers second batch of Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Incidentally, the Bundeswehr also announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have received 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles. According to Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov, Ukrainian paratroopers receive British Challenger 2 tanks, US Stryker BMPs and German Marder BMPs.
