Lenovo closes Legion range of gaming smartphones - the gaming series has lived less than three years
A few days ago it was reported that Lenovo was shutting down the Legion series of gaming smartphones. We didn't have to wait long for confirmation.
Here's What We Know
The first to write about it was a Lenovo employee in the Chinese working community Maimai. The day before, a company spokesperson officially confirmed the information in a conversation with Android Authority journalists.
In a statement, it said Lenovo is discontinuing the Android-based Legion series of gaming smartphones "as part of a broader business transformation and consolidation of its gaming portfolio". The Legion Y70, announced in August 2022, was thus the last device in the series.
Sadly, the lineup didn't live up to three years. The debut gaming smartphone was announced in summer 2020. It was called the Legion Pro, was the world's first model on the Snapdragon 865+ chip, and the main feature was a retractable front-facing camera located on the end.
