Ford has resumed production of F-150 Lightning electric peaks, but raised prices by $1200-4000
Ford was forced to halt deliveries of the F-150 Lightning electric vehicle due to battery problems. After about a month, the problem was resolved, but the company started selling the pickups at a higher price than before the suspension.
Here's What We Know
During the passing week, Ford's Michigan facility was able to get back on track in terms of electric vehicle production volumes. Anyone interested can already pre-order the F-150 Lightning.
Low-cost configurations are not yet available to private customers. They can order the Lariant Standard Range or Platinum versions. Their prices have increased from $74,474 to $75,974 and from $96,874 to $98,074 respectively. For commercial customers, Standard Range configurations are available, but the price has increased by $4,000 to $59,974.
Ford says the increase is due to higher component costs and some "market factors." Until the end of May, private customers will be able to order Ford F-150 Lightning as standard, and the plant's capacity will increase to 150,000 pickups/year by the fall.
