At Comic-Con 2023, Ubisoft Motive revealed new details about Star Wars Outlaws - you can visit a "desert planet with two suns" to work for Jabba the Hutt himself
Ubisoft Motive revealed new details about Star Wars Outlaws at the recent San Diego Comic-Com 2023. It revealed a little bit about the underworld, including the planet Toshara, and speaking to IGN, the game's director Julian Gerighty revealed that players will be able to travel to Tatooine, where they will be able to complete missions for the most powerful criminal mastermind in the Outer Rim, Jabba the Hutt.
Here's What We Know
The planet Toshara is inspired by the American savannah with wide plains that are ideal for fast speeder travel.
"We start with a biome, in this case, southeast African biomes, as an inspiration, and then you put a twist on it to make it feel a little bit alien. If you think of the first shots, maybe not the first shots, but the first shots of Tatooine. Beautiful, recognizable architecture, but two suns."
Lucasfilm's Senior Creative Director Matt Martin introduced a special rule called 80/20. According to this rule, 80% of the game's locations will be familiar to players from the real world, and the remaining 20% will be completely created by space fantasy.
"If you close your eyes and give people a choice to go anywhere in Tatooine? Mos Eisley. And specifically one watering hole in Mos Eisley. The opportunity is that you can see all the nooks and crannies."
The developers have not yet revealed how many planets will be available for visiting in the game, but we know that each of them will be equal to about two or three zones from Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
When We Can Expect It
Star Wars: Outlaws is scheduled for release in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, where the game will be available only on Ubisoft Connect.
