Star Wars Outlaws action game continues to grow with interesting details.

Ubisoft Massive creative director Julian Gerighty gave an interview to EDGE magazine, where he revealed some nuances of the game.

Here's What We Know

It is known that the game will have a large open world, but perhaps its size will surprise players.

According to Julian Gerety, each of the planets that can be landed on will offer a huge playable area. Each of them is 2-3 times the map of one of the biggest games of our time, Assassin's Creed Odyssey! However, unlike Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws will feature high-speed transport, which will significantly speed up movement.

In addition, the creative director revealed that each location is created manually, as the developers are not using procedural generation. This will make each location in the game unique.

Other talking points of the interview:

  • it will not be possible to move freely in the airspace of planets: takeoff and landing can only be carried out in certain places;
  • the pet of the main character Nix not only decorates the game, but also actively helps the girl. He can distract enemies, bring their weapons, press a certain button on command and even attack the enemy;
  • the game has a reputation system, so every action of the player, at least theoretically, is reflected on the attitude of characters to the main character. Depending on the actions, it is possible to both find allies and make enemies. The heroine's reputation also affects the value of the goods she can buy;
  • spaceship protagonist Kay Vess (Kay Vess) EML-850 Trailblazer specially created by Ubisoft designers in the style of toys of the 70s, which is a reference to the very first Star Wars films. Recall, the events of the game unfolded between the films "The Empire Strikes Back" (Star Wars. Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back) and "Return of the Jedi" (Star Wars. Episode VI: Return of the Jedi).

When We Can Expect It

Star Wars Outlaws is expected to release in 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
