Intel has released a new update , which is designed to close the Specter vulnerabilities.

What is known

The patch concerns processors on microarchitecture Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake and Skylake. The update will protect the chips of the sixth, seventh and eighth generations in pairs with the Core and X series. The Xeon Scalable and Intel Xeon D processors will also receive their patch.

Do not be ashamed to put

Earlier Intel released patches for the Specter, but they gave more problems than a sense of security. Forums have been flooded with reports of frequent PC reboots and performance degradation. Executive Vice President of the company Navin Shenoi suggested not to put the upgrade until a stable version appeared. Now he said with certainty that the new patch was tested and ready for use.
