The developers of the online shooter Fear the Wolves gave a great interview to the publication Eurogamer. As it turned out, the most interesting gameplay solution went to the "Spectators".

What was told

Fear the Wolves is developed on the engine Unreal Engine 4, which is remarkable, because before Vostok Games used a self-made Vostok Engine, which had some problems with optimization and the physical engine. Players will be presented with an area of 25 square kilometers - this is approximately equal to the area of the present exclusion zone. According to the laws of the genre, the game space will gradually decrease under the influx of radiation. All players will start empty-handed, equipment will have to be picked up around the area, and especially valuable loot can not be obtained without a chemical protection suit and shooting mutants. In general, the developers promise a more hardcore gameplay compared to the icon of "royal battles" - PUBG. This will contribute to realistic ballistics, first-person view and narrowed viewing angles. Also, we expect classic and subtle "stalker" anomalies, each of which will have its own approach to eliminating the player.

Most delicious

Vostok Games quite interestingly approached the concept of "Spectator". Observers will be able to influence the outcome of the match by changing the weather conditions. For example, to raise the temperature, forcing players to fizzle out faster or by fixing fog, reducing the range of visibility of stalkers. The match itself is designed for 20-45 minutes, fighting will go on throughout the game day, from dawn to late at night.

Recall that Fear the Wolves was announced in early February, the project is being developed since September 2017, and the release is scheduled for 2018, of course, after the period of Early Access.
