Huawei's profits surge 118% on the back of its flagship Mate 60 Pro smartphone to $3.6bn

In the summer, Huawei presented its flagship smartphone Mate 60 Pro with Kirin 9000S processor. It helped the Chinese company to more than double its profits.

In the third quarter of 2023, Huawei's revenue was almost $20 billion. Profit in comparison with the same period of 2022 increased by 118% and reached $3.6 billion. One of the key factors of success was precisely the Huawei Mate 60 Pro.

The smartphone is equipped with a Kirin 9000S chip. The processor is manufactured by SMIC using 7nm technology. In fact, the release of the flagship became a demonstration of the lack of effectiveness of American sanctions, which should have left the Chinese company without such chips.

Huawei Mate 60 Pro immediately became popular. In a month and a half, the Chinese company sold 1.3 million smartphones. The total supply of Huawei devices with Kirin chips next year may reach 70 million units.
