Huawei has sold 1.6 million Mate 60 Pro flagship smartphones with a Kirin 9000S chip that could have been created using US technology

Huawei Mate 60 Pro has been a successful smartphone for the Chinese company. Its popularity does not fall a few weeks after the announcement.

Here's What We Know

The Huawei Mate 60 Pro was announced in August 2023. According to Counterpoint Research, the Chinese company was able to sell 1.6 million smartphones in six weeks. 400,000 devices Huawei managed to realise while the iPhone 15 appeared in China.

The Mate 60 Pro model is equipped with a Kirin 9000S chip, which turned out to be quite scandalous. It is possible that the processor is made using US technology. US authorities are already investigating to determine the structure and origin of the new SoC.
