OnePlus 12R: a re-branded OnePlus Ace 3 for the global market for $500
In early January, OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus Ace 3 smartphone in China, and today, the OnePlus 12R made its global debut. It's the same phone, just with different names for different markets - Chinese and international.
Technical Characteristics
The OnePlus 12R is a simplified version of the OnePlus 12 flagship with top-of-the-line specs and a nicer price tag. Externally, they are almost identical. On the front, there is a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1264×2780 pixels, a peak brightness of 4500 nits and a refresh rate of 120Hz. LTPO 4.0 technology allows you to adjust the refresh rate depending on the content. The screen also has HDR10+, Dolby Vision and DisplayMate A+ certifications and is protected by durable Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass.
Inside, there's a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a large vaping camera like the OnePlus 12, and a 5,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging support.
The triple main camera consists of a 50 MP Sony IMX890 main sensor with optical image stabilisation, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2 MP macro module. There is a 16 MP front camera for selfies.
How Much Do They Cost?
The OnePlus 12R is available in two colours (dark grey and blue) and two versions: 8/128GB - $500, 16/256GB - $600. In the US and Europe, sales will start on 13 February.
