A reputable insider has denied rumours that Resident Evil 1 and 5 remakes are in development, but rejoiced those waiting for updated versions of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica
Insider information about new games of the Resident Evil franchise regularly appears on the network. They concern both the ninth part and remakes of some old parts. Especially gamers are interested in the information that by 2026 Capcom allegedly plans to release a remake of the first part of Res ident Evil and thus celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series.
One of the main sources of rumours about Resident Evil is a well-known insider Dusk Golem, who has to admit: what he and his colleagues reported earlier - is not true.
Here's What We Know
Dusk Golem honestly admitted that the rumours about the remake of the first part of Resident Evil are complete nonsense and absolutely untrue. According to his sources, Capcom is not only not working on this project - it doesn't even (yet) have plans to re-release the first part of the cult horror.
As for Resident Evil 9, the information about the game's release in early 2025 doesn't seem to be true to Dusk Golem either. His sources claim that the game will be released at the turn of 2025/2026, and the game will be presented not at the beginning of this summer, but at the end (probably at gamescom).
The insider also denied rumours about Resident Evil 5 remake development. According to Dusk Golem this project is not in the active production stage.
But there is good news!
The insider has encouraged fans of the series with the news that Capcom is developing long-awaited remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica, which fans have been asking for a long time.
With so many insiders it's hard to know what to believe and what is fiction, so we recommend waiting for official information from the developer and then be sad or happy.
