YouTube TV subscribers no longer have to wonder if their favourite content is available in 4K. The platform is introducing a new update that should make it easier to access content in the highest quality.

Here's What We Know

For users who have the 4K Plus package, a special notification will now appear on the screen if a show or broadcast is available in 4K.

This notification appears in the upper right corner of the screen and allows you to instantly switch to the highest quality with just one click. Previously, subscribers had to manually search for apps that support 4K resolution, which was a bit of an inconvenience. The innovation solves this problem by making the process of viewing content more convenient and intuitive.

This feature will be a real boon for sports fans who want to enjoy dynamic moments in the best possible quality. Even though this solution should have been introduced at the launch of the 4K package, it's better late than never.

The 4K Plus package is available for an additional $9.99 per month on top of the basic subscription, which costs $82.99. In addition to access to 4K content, it also offers a number of useful features, such as unlimited simultaneous streams and the ability to download recordings for offline viewing.

Overall, the new update is an important step towards improving the user experience.

YouTube TV recently announced a price increase. Starting 13 January 2025, the basic tariff will rise from $72.99 to $82.99 per month. The price increase is attributed to rising content costs and investments in service improvements.
