26.5-inch display and Dolby Atmos: Mazda has revealed the interior of the EZ-60 electric crossover vehicle

Changan Mazda has revealed details of the interior of the upcoming EZ-60 electric crossover, which will have its official premiere on 23 April at the Shanghai Motor Show.

The interior is designed in a two-colour scheme and is complemented by a black ceiling. The main element of the interior is a wide 26.45-inch display with 5K resolution, combining the functions of the dashboard and multimedia system. The almost complete absence of physical buttons suggests that the main functions and microclimate will be controlled via touchscreen and voice commands.

Audio system in the top configuration of the model is represented by 23 speakers and supports Dolby Atmos surround sound technology. For rear passengers there is a separate touchscreen control unit for climate control and multimedia. The boot volume varies from 350 to 2,036 litres, depending on the position of the backrests of the second row seats. The all-electric version additionally features a 126-litre front boot.

The EZ-60 is built on Changan's EPA platform and is actually the more premium twin of the Deepal S07 crossover. The range will include both an all-electric version and a modification with a petrol range extender.

The latter uses a 1.5-litre 72 kW (97 hp) petrol engine as a generator to power a 31.73 kW∙h battery. A 190-kilowatt (255 hp) electric motor spins the wheels. The electric range is 160 kilometres on the CLTC cycle. Specifications of the all-electric version have not yet been revealed.

After the debut in China, the EZ-60 will enter foreign markets, including European markets, under the name Mazda CX-6e. Prices have not yet been named, but it is expected that the novelty will be more expensive than the related Deepal S07, in the range from 149,900 to 197,900 yuan (approximately 20,500 - 27,100 US dollars or 18,056 - 23,838 euros at current exchange rates).
