The new Toyota RAV4 GR Sport has a more aggressive design
Toyota today unveiled not only the regular versions of the sixth generation RAV4, but also the "sporty" GR Sport. The manufacturer stated that in addition to visual differences, this version of the model has original chassis settings aimed at creating a brighter and more dynamic driving experience.
Here's What We Know
The track width of the Toyota RAV4 GR Sport has been increased by 20 mm, while sporty shock absorbers, a reinforced rear suspension crossmember and reconfigured suspension and steering work to improve stability and steering precision. In addition, lightweight 20-inch black twin-spoke wheels help to optimise aerodynamics.
On the outside, the GR Sport is easily recognisable by its signature 'functional matrix' grille with a hexagonal pattern that creates a volumetric structure effect. The interior is decorated in dark colours, with red accents on the steering wheel, tonneau covers and sports seats upholstered in synthetic leather and Alcantara - exclusive to this version. The sporty styling is complemented by aluminium brake and accelerator pedal pads and the signature GR logos.
Toyota did not say anything about the power increase of the GR Sport version. Recall that the new generation RAV4 is available exclusively in hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions based on a 2.5-litre petrol engine. The plug-in hybrid develops 183bhp in the front-wheel drive configuration and 191bhp in the all-wheel drive version. Meanwhile, the RAV4 PHEV's powertrain produces 268bhp and 304bhp for the front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, respectively. Meanwhile, the PHEV has an electric range of up to 100 kilometres on the WLTP cycle.
Sales of the new generation Toyota RAV4 will start in spring 2026.
