Garmin has released a new update for its sports smartwatches to fix an issue with crashing during GPS activities.

Here's What We Know

After completing the last beta testing of System Software 9.20, the company has returned to testing a new beta version 9.21 to fix a bug that could cause the system to crash during training with GPS activated.

Users of the Instinct 3 AMOLED, Solar, and Instinct E models have already started receiving this update - it comes directly to the watch via the Internet, so you won't have to wait long. Garmin does not provide detailed information about the causes of the failures, but emphasises that the new version should solve the problem related to the GPS operation.

Earlier, Garmin announced the completion of the beta phase of version 9.20, which included a number of new features for Instinct 3 models. However, the rapid release of version 9.21 indicates that the company has identified the need for additional improvements. Following the successful completion of testing, Garmin is expected to release a stable version of the update to all users soon.

Garmin owners are advised to keep an eye out for notifications about new updates and install them to avoid possible disruptions during GPS training.

As a reminder, the new features of Garmin Forerunner 570/970 will be available in Fenix 8, Enduro 3, and Tactix 8. Garmin has officially confirmed that some of the features that debuted in the new Forerunner 570 and 970 smartwatches will be available on other models.
