We've already reported details of a major update to visionOS 26 for Apple's Vision Pro virtual and augmented reality headset. The developer will add many interesting features, among which there will be support for controllers from Sony.

Here's What We Know

Apple has officially confirmed that with the release of visionOS 26, its Vision Pro headsets will be compatible with controllers from PlayStation VR2.

This will allow game developers to add deeper features and interaction mechanics, as Sony has invested significant resources into the development of its controllers and equipped them not only with haptic feedback and high sensitivity, but also with six degrees of freedom, allowing players to subtly interact with the virtual world.

However, it's still unknown whether Sony will sell Sense separately from the PS VR2, as that option isn't available right now, and having bought an Apple Vision Pro for $3499 few people will want to spend an extra $400 to buy a similar VR headset from Sony just to get the controllers.

It's likely that Sony will still go for a separate Sense sale, otherwise there's no point in such a partnership.

VisionOS 26 is expected to be released in autumn 2025, and you can install its beta version now.
