In addition to a major update to its core operating systems (iOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, and macOS 26), Apple has also unveiled visionOS 26 for the Apple Vision Pro virtual and augmented reality headset.
Here's What We Know
At the WWDC 2025 conference, the US developers announced visionOS 26, the third generation of the operating system for their AR headset.
With the release of the update, Apple Vision Pro will have several additional features that will make using the device even more convenient.
Key innovations:
- Eye Tracking Scroll - you can now scroll through pages with your gaze by simply looking up or down;
- 3D widgets - you can place them in front of your eyes or pin them to the wall to create digital photo frames;
- Spatial Photos - an AI system automatically converts 2D photos into 3D images with a depth effect;
- updated Personas avatars - they now look almost like real people, with improved skin, hair and facial expressions;
- shared spaces - Vision Pro users can watch films, listen to music or read books together, even when they are far away from each other.
The first beta of visionOS 26 is already available to users from 9 June 2025, with the official release coming in September.
