A reputable Chinese insider Digital Chat Station has shared some interesting information about the yet unannounced Xiaomi 16 and Redmi K90 flagship smartphones, and this time he has reported about their displays.

Here's What We Know

The popular tech blogger reported that Chinese giant Xiaomi is planning to equip its premium gadgets with new Real RGB OLED screens.

These panels use a full RGB sub-pixel layout, which allows each red, green and blue sub-pixel to emit light independently, differentiating the technology from the more common PenTile layout. Real RGB minimises the loss of pixel density and improves sharpness, especially when displaying text.

According to Digital Chat Station, production of 2K Real RGB OLED panels will start in September, and the first smartphones with advanced displays and will be Xiaomi 16 and Redmi K90.

Almost nothing is known about the Redmi K90 smartphone, while the Xiaomi 16 was previously reported to get a translucent body, the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip and a 7,000mAh battery. It is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2026.
