Apple TV+ has gone up in price: a subscription now costs $13 a month
Apple is once again increasing the cost of its Apple TV+ streaming service. Starting today, the monthly subscription is going up from $10 to $13, though the annual subscription and Apple One bundle price remain unchanged.
For current subscribers, the change will take effect 30 days after the next renewal. So no one will pay more immediately, but the price update is inevitable.
Why is Apple raising the price?
Although Apple TV+ is a relatively young service, the platform is quickly gaining popularity. In 2023, a monthly subscription cost just $7, but now the cost has nearly doubled. At its most recent financial report, the company noted that Apple TV+ views have grown at a "double-digit rate" since last year.
The Apple TV+ has already been the subject of debate among viewers and critics. Hits like "Severance" and "The Studio" as well as science fiction series like "For All Mankind," "Invasion," "Foundation," " Murderbot," "Silo," and "Dark Matter" have proven that the platform can compete with major streaming services and win prestigious awards, including emmys.
The price increase looks logical from a business point of view: the popularity of the service is growing, content is expensive, and viewers are willing to pay for quality shows. Nevertheless, the rapid increase in price may cause dissatisfaction among some users, especially those who subscribed to the service recently.
Apple TV+ is still going strong, offering new premieres and expanding its content library to retain audiences and attract new subscribers.
