Huawei Unveils Pura X Max: The Foldable Phone That Rivals Tablets with Stunning Features
Alongside the main Pura 90 series, Huawei introduced its most ambitious innovation — the Pura X Max. This device opens a new category of "wide" foldable smartphones (Wide Fold), which in their unfolded form are almost indistinguishable in screen format from full-fledged compact tablets — this is exactly what the upcoming novelties from Samsung and Apple will be like, but Huawei overtook them, even last year, when it released the original Pura X.
Unique Form Factor
Unlike traditional foldable devices, the Pura X Max has an internal screen aspect ratio of 16:10. In its unfolded state, it resembles an iPad mini, making it ideal for working with documents, reading, and watching videos without large black bars.
The novelty features a 7.7” LTPO OLED internal display with WQHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The external screen is 5.4” — a convenient display for one-handed use when closed, though slightly wider than most models.
The device dimensions are 120×166.5×5.2 mm (unfolded), 120×85×11.2 mm (folded), and it weighs 229 grams.
Power and Innovation
The smartphone is based on the flagship Kirin 9030 Pro chip. Engineers managed to fit an impressive 6000 mAh battery into the foldable case, which is a high figure for devices of this type. The Pura X Max supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Huawei Pura X Max is equipped with a main sensor with XMAGE technology at 50 MP and a periscopic telephoto lens of the same resolution.
The most advanced materials were used in the smartphone's production: an aviation titanium frame and an updated Kunlun Glass high-strength coating to protect both screens. However, the novelty is protected only by IP59 from water and dust.
Memory and Colors
The device is available in four configurations, including an exclusive “Collector’s Edition”: 12/256 GB, 12/512 GB, 16/512 GB, and the top version with 16 GB / 1 TB.
Pura X Max is offered to customers in classic black and white, elegant gold, as well as vibrant indigo and orange.
The smartphone will come with the latest HarmonyOS 6.1 operating system and supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, eSIM, NFC, USB Type-C 3.1, OTG, DisplayPort 1.2
