Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro offers six years of updates for $270 — but only India gets it
Samsung has launched the Galaxy F70 Pro 5G in India, starting at roughly $270 — and its headline feature isn't the camera or the battery. It's six years of guaranteed OS updates and six years of security patches, a software commitment that matches the Galaxy S25 series and outpaces most phones in this price range anywhere in the world. The catch: the F-series has never launched in the US or UK, and nothing suggests that's about to change.
The phone itself
The F70 Pro is built around a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display running at 120Hz, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+ — a premium cover glass that rarely appears on phones under $400. The rear panel gets the same Victus+ treatment, alongside an IP64 dust and splash rating.

Inside sits Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 on a 4nm process, paired with an Adreno 710 GPU. It handles everyday tasks and streaming well; it isn't built for heavy gaming. RAM options are 6GB or 8GB, with 128GB or 256GB of storage and a microSD slot for expansion.
The F70 Pro carries an IP64 rating and Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both front and back panels.
The 6,000mAh battery supports 45W wired charging. Samsung's triple rear camera system leads with a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 5-megapixel ultrawide, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The front camera is 12 megapixels.

The update promise
Six years of OS upgrades plus six years of security patches, confirmed on Samsung India, is the real story here. At this price, Motorola typically offers three years of OS updates. Most budget Android phones manage two. Nothing's comparable mid-rangers sit closer to four. For anyone who holds onto a phone for five-plus years, that gap matters.

No US or UK launch has been announced. Samsung's Galaxy A and M series cover the Western mid-range market; the F-series has remained India-exclusive since it launched.
