Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition goes on sale — only 5,000 exist worldwide

Realme has launched the Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition, a pop-culture tie-in with Warner Bros. Discovery that caps at 5,000 units globally. Priced at €699 in Spain — the only confirmed Western market so far — it's a bet that licensed collectibles can push Realme up into lifestyle brand territory. No UK or US pricing has been announced yet, but Spain's availability through MediaMarkt and El Corte Inglés shows Realme is treating this as a genuine European launch, not just an India-first drop.

The look

The back panel is brown with a textured, diamond-pattern finish inspired by wizard chess. The Hogwarts crest sits at the center and uses what Realme calls "Quadra Light-Sensing Color-Changing" technology: hold a UV light to it and all four house colors — Gryffindor red, Slytherin green, Hufflepuff yellow, Ravenclaw blue — appear simultaneously. Realme claims this is a world first. There is a durability caveat buried in the fine print: the color-changing effect may gradually wear off over time, which is worth noting if you're buying this as a collectible. The camera module references Harry's owl Hedwig, and "Welcome to Hogwarts" is engraved along the frame.

The software gets the treatment too — custom icons, wallpapers, lock screen, and camera filters, all themed around the wizarding world.

The specs

Hardware is identical to the standard Realme 16 Pro: a 6.78-inch 144Hz AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max chip, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The main camera is 200MP with optical stabilization, joined by an 8MP ultrawide and a 50MP front shooter. Battery is a large 7,000mAh cell with 80W wired charging and reverse charging support. IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K water resistance is included.

The box

Each of the 5,000 units ships in a gift box styled as a Hogwarts student trunk. Inside: a Hogwarts acceptance letter, a Platform 9¾ train ticket, bookmarks, character postcards, a themed phone case, and a SIM ejector tool. Launched alongside the phone is the Realme Buds T500 Pro Harry Potter Edition — brown-gold earbuds with a Hogwarts-crest case, 50dB active noise cancellation, Bluetooth 6.1, Hi-Res Audio Wireless, LHDC 5.0, and up to 56 hours of total battery life.

Availability

India pricing is set at ₹62,999 (around $658) per PhoneArena, with sales starting September 22. In Europe, Spain is confirmed at €699 from September 21. There is no UK or US launch date or price on record — Realme's retail footprint in both markets is limited, and with only 5,000 units split globally, supply outside India and Spain may be tight. This follows last year's Game of Thrones edition built around the Realme 15 Pro, suggesting an annual licensed drop is now part of Realme's playbook.
