Android 14 and four years of updates - Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro will get long-lasting support

The Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro smartphones will premiere next week. They will be the company's first models to be supported for four years.

What is known?

The relevant poster has been published on the official website of the manufacturer from the Celestial Empire. Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro will get three revisions of the operating system at once. They will go on sale with Android 11 and will be updated to Android 12, Android 13 and Android 14 in the future.

The flagships will receive security patches until August 2025 inclusive. But there is a possibility that updates with security patches closer to the end of the stated deadline will start to be released not monthly, but once a quarter, as Samsung did for the Galaxy Note 9.

Journalists asked whether Xiaomi intends to offer an identical level of support for its other smartphones. A company spokesperson responded by saying that Xiaomi is evaluating the possibility of expanding software update services to more devices.
