Original Apple Watch recognized as a "vintage" product

Apple has updated its list of vintage and obsolete products.

Who's on the

 list?

The original smartwatch Apple Watch, which was the first model in the series, is officially listed as vintage devices. This category includes products that are not sold for more than 5 but less than 7 years. If however, sales ceased more than 7 years ago, the model moves into the category of obsolete devices.

Along with the Apple Watch, 13- and 15-inch 2015 MacBook Pro Retina are considered vintage.

It is believed that vintage products are not repairable from Apple or authorized Apple service providers. But at repair is actually possible, it's just dependent on availability of parts. A product loses all hardware service when it becomes "obsolete".

Recall, the Apple Watch debuted in 2015 without a number in the name, so they are called the Series 0. As of today, the new Apple Watch Series 7, which was introduced in mid-September and not even on sale yet, is considered relevant.
