Microsoft today unveiled a simplified version of Windows 11 SE, and along with it  its first laptop with this operating system Surface Laptop SE.

What can it do?

This is a laptop that intends to compete with the Chromebook and is designed for students in educational institutions. It features an 11.6-inch screen, a front HD camera with face recognition and stereo speakers - that is everything you need for distance learning. As the manufacturer assures, "every detail of the Surface Laptop SE has been thoughtfully designed to meet the immediate needs of an educational institution".

The base model comes with an Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC memory. Microsoft says they've squeezed the most out of power management, allowing the Surface Laptop SE up to 16 hours of battery life in standard use. In addition, with improved repairability, vital components such as the display, battery, keyboard and even the motherboard can easily be repaired on site, saving time and  money to IT administrators and schools.

Price

Surface Laptop SE is the most affordable member of the Surface series. Its price tag starts at $250 and reaches $329 depending on  configuration.
