A popular Chinese insider reported last week that Qualcomm plans to release Snapdragon 898 chip with a different name... The company has now officially confirmed this.

What is known

The American chipmaker announced that the new processor will now have in its name not only the series number, but also the generation. That is, the novelty, as the informant said earlier, will be called Snapdragon 8 Gen1. Whether the rebranding of the 700th, 600th, 400th and 200th series of chips will affect the rebranding is still unknown.

Recall The Snapdragon 8 Gen1 will debut on November 30 at the Snapdragon Tech Summit. The chip will compete with the recently introduced MediaTek Dimensity 9000... According to rumors, the novelty will be built on 4-nanometer technical process. SoC is credited with the main core AMR Cortex-X2 with clocked at 3.0 GHz, three medium cores on base Cortex-A710 with 2.5 GHz clock speed and four effective cores Cortex-A510 with clock frequency of 1.79 GHz. In addition, the processor should receive Adreno 730 graphics and a new 5G modem Snapdragon X65 with 10Gbps downlink speed.
