Meta and Ray-Ban unveiled new smart glasses with Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip, IPX4 protection, 12 MP camera and the ability to stream videos to Instagram and Facebook

Meta and Ray-Ban revealed Stories smart glasses in 2021, and now they've announced the second generation of the device.

Here's What We Know

The glasses were called Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses. The main feature of the novelty was the ability to broadcast video immediately to Instagram and Facebook. For this purpose, the device was equipped with a wide-angle 12-megapixel camera. It can record video in 1080p. During the recording of a video clip, a white indicator on the glasses glows.

Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are equipped with 32GB of storage. According to the company, this is enough to store about 500 photos and about 100 30-second videos on the device. All content will be synchronised with the Meta View app.

The glasses are powered by a Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor. The novelty also boasts improved and louder sound. The glasses have IPX4 protection against water droplets and sweat. As for autonomy, it will last up to 36 hours. The glasses are charged via the USB-C port.

Price & When We Can Expect It

Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses can already be pre-ordered on the official website of the manufacturer for $299-379. Sales of the novelty will start in the US, Canada, Australia and Europe on 17 October. The glasses will be available in two versions: Wayfarer and Headliner.
