According to an insider, Konami is closely monitoring the development of the Silent Hill 2 remake and does not give the developers too much creative freedom
After the announcement of the remake of the cult game Silent Hill 2 fans of the Japanese horror wondered if the new ideas of the Polish developers from Bloober Team spoil it.
Judging by the trailer's debut, there will be some minor changes (otherwise why bother?), but as insider Imran Khan wrote on Twitter, Konami does not give Bloober Team creative freedom, completely controlling the development process.
If anyone cares, regarding Silent Hill 2, I've heard from several people close to the production of the project that Konami is keeping the Bloober Team on a very short leash. Particularly this strict control applies to the addition of entirely new content to the game. This, of course, does not mean that the remake won't differ from the original at all.
This does not mean that the remake will faithfully replicate the original game, but the main story points and the overall narrative will be carefully preserved.
There is no release date yet for the Silent Hill 2 remake, but the Bloober Team leader recently said that "the game is almost ready”.
