On October 13, Microsofot acquired Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion. During this time, prices for Activision games have already risen in some Steam regions, and gamers are starting to wonder when the studio's games will appear on Game Pass. And the last question was answered by Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft's gaming division, on the Xbox podcast.

Here's What We Know

Spencer expects Activision Blizzard games to appear in Game Pass in 2024. He said that the acquisition of Activision Blizzard took a long time. There has been a lot of uncertainty for almost 2 years of this story. Only a week before the deal closed, Microsoft started working with Activision Blizzard on the back catalogue to add already released games to Game Pass.

Phil would love it if there was a secret holiday announcement where games were added to Game Pass, but that's not going to happen. And he understands that this will cause some disappointment.

Call of Duty games would definitely not be added immediately after the deal was closed, as Activision and Sony still have exclusive agreements for the franchise. Therefore, gamers will have to wait until next year to be able to play most Activision Blizzard games via Game Pass.
