Not a breakthrough, but a great souls-like: critics were pleased with the dark action game Lies of P and give the game high marks on aggregators
Only a few days are left before the release of the action game Lies of P.
Critics have already had a chance to get acquainted with the promising game about the creepy adventures of Pinocchio in the city of mad automatons and started to share their impressions from the project of Korean studios Neowiz and Round 8.
Here's What We Know
Since the release of the first trailer, Lies of P has been constantly compared to Bloodborne.
Experts have confirmed that the new action game is indeed similar to the FromSoftware game, but it couldn't surpass it. Korean developers competently copied the stylistics and gameplay elements of Bloodborne and integrated them into their own project.
This is both a huge plus and a huge minus of Lies of P. The game turned out to be interesting, atmospheric and challenging, but almost everything it offers, players have already seen in Bloodborne.
Nevertheless, Lies of P gets high marks. At the time of writing, it has received:
- Opencritic - 81 points and 84% recommendation;
- Metacritic, PS5 version - 82 points;
- Metacritic, Xbox Series version - 83 points;
- Metacritic, PC version - 81 points.
Today on Metacritic there was a major interface update and now there is an overall score available there taking into account the versions for all platforms, and the overall score of Lies of P is 82.
Well, fans of complex games and souls-like games will appreciate the new adventures of Pinocchio, but fans of more casual games may not accept Lies of P.
When We Can Expect It
Lies of P will be released on the 19th of September. The game will be available on MS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series, and will be available in the Game Pass catalogue on release day.
