Bayraktar Akinci launches laser guided cruise missile LGK-2 and destroys target - first such test in history

The Bayraktar Akinci became the world's first drone to launch a laser guided cruise missile. The test took place on July 1 in Turkey.

What we know

The strike drone Bayraktar Akinci flew from Çorlu airbase in Tekirdag province in the northwest of the country. Climbing to an altitude of 9,144 meters, the drone launched a laser-guided cruise missile LGK-82 and successfully hit the target of the simulated enemy.

The warhead is developed by ASELSAN. It is now actively used in manned aviation. on July 1, the laser guided missile was tested for the first time on an unmanned aerial vehicle. The guidance system was the GÖDZE solution from TÜBITA SAGE.
