Estonian court sends Russian man to prison for buying drones for Russian army
The Harju county court in Estonia convicted a man who purchased drones for the Russian army.
What is known
A few days ago we wrote about the fact that Russian citizen Vladimir Shilov was detained while trying to export drones for the Russian army from Estonia. But the story has evolved.
On May 11, Vladimir (43 year old), began raising money to buy a drone for the military. As it turned out, he managed to buy three drones at once with the money he raised. The "volunteer" was detained at the Koidula border crossing.
The court sentenced the Russian to one year in prison. The man must spend four months in prison. The eight months were changed to a suspended sentence with probation of four years. The convict lost his drones and has to pay more than €1600 as compensation for procedural costs.
It was not only Vladimir Shilov who suffered. The court imposed a suspended sentence of five months in prison on two men who had transferred money to Shilov's account. Probation is 20 months. The two convicted need to compensate the costs of approximately €1225 and €1190.
