Airbus's Zephyr drone has set an airborne flight record, but it will soon have to land.
What we know
Zephyr is equipped with wings with a span of 25 meters. The drone weighs about 75 kg. According to the manufacturer, it can fly at an altitude of up to 21.3 km.
The drone has been in the air for more than a month. It was launched on June 15 from the Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona. So it has been flying for 45 days. But soon the drone will have to land. This is due to the fact that in the near future Airbus has another test of the drone.
The previous record for the duration of the flight was made in 2018. Then Zephyr drone was in the air for 26 days (without three minutes).
