Reveal Technology has trained Golden Eagle drones to instantly create 3D maps for the military
Reveal Technology was able to combine the Teal 4-Ship unmanned aircraft system and Farsight software.
Here's What We Know
Farsight allows multiple drones to be used simultaneously to instantly create three-dimensional maps of the terrain. The new technology has already been presented to the U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
The software was created jointly with Teal Drones. The new development combines several images from two or more drones to create a 3D terrain map. The companies say it will allow the military to get information faster than ever before.
Reveal Technology notes that Farsight is leveraging the Teal 4-Ship drone system, which consists of four Golden Eagle drones. Teal unveiled its system in early summer. It allows four drones to be operated simultaneously to provide 360-degree surveillance.
Farsight software and Golden Eagle drones will help the U.S. military obtain real-time 3D maps for successful missions. For example, with the new technology, Army combat units will be able to get the best route to get to the right point without the enemy noticing it. Also, the software will make it possible to select safe locations for landing troops and landing aircraft.
