The Ukrainian army continues to rearm. The fighters showed a video of training with American machine guns M4 and MGL grenade launchers.
What we know
The M4 is an American automatic carbine based on the M16A2 rifle. It was adopted by the US Army in 1994. The rifle weighs 3.4 kg with a full magazine. Barrel length is 370 mm without a compensator.
The assault rifle has an effective firing range of 500 m for single targets and 600 m for group targets. The machine can fire up to 900 shots per minute. Additional equipment includes an underbarrel grenade launcher M203, laser target illumination, optical sight ACOG, collimator sight Aimpoint CompM2, lantern and muffler.
MGL (Multiple Grenade Launcher) is a semi-automatic 40 mm grenade launcher developed 39 years ago. It is manufactured by the company Milkor Marketing in South Africa. Manufacturing licenses are also held by companies in the US, China, Croatia and Bulgaria.
The grenade launcher can be used with all NATO low-velocity ammunition, including HUNTIR, M670, M651, M585, M576, M433, M406 and XM1060. Rate of Fire MGL is 12-15 rounds per minute, and the maximum range is 400 m.
