Huge clouds of smoke appeared over the Crimean bridge
on June 30, the residents of temporarily occupied Crimea began to report large clouds of smoke that enveloped the Crimean bridge.
What we know
Residents of some settlements of the peninsula saw smoke in the area of Tuzla and near the Kerch coast at the exit from the bridge.
Some sources suggest that the smokescreen is an attempt of the Russian army to protect the bridge from a missile attack from Ukraine. However, this is a rather controversial decision due to the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have weapons guided by satellites. In this case, a smokescreen will not help.
The occupation authorities have already commented on the smoke screen. The head of Crimea - Aksyonov, wrote that there is no danger for the Crimean bridge and the residents of the peninsula. The clouds of smoke were caused by the exercises of law enforcement agencies in the area of the strategic object.
